I woke up today and saw that "The Graduate" was recording on our DVR. I've always been curious as to what its story is, so I started it over and watched. It was so engaging what with Mrs. Robinson seducing Dustin Hoffman, and then him falling for her daughter in the end.
It had about three songs in its soundtrack that kept on repeating. Scarborough fair, Mrs. Robinson, and that opening song whose title I forgot. Me like. Gusto ko nang mamahinga, no. (Although kung mangyari man yun, I guess pwede na rin. I could use the time to study.)
Mmm. Mmmm... Toasty. | | The night was fun. I seem to be using the word "fun" a lot. It's fun! Dancing without caring is fun. Chris doing the robot is funner (Grammar nazis, shut the hell up). Getting accidentally flashed by a girl with huge jugs... ah, not so fun. But, hey! She do what she want! |
| | So we went to see Jason Mraz last Friday. He was hilarious. Why are musicians secretly like... stand up comedians? What's up with that?
Then the Sunday after, we went to the beach with Chris and several friends of his. |
I don't want this feeling to go away. :)

Highlights of the night: - Dave Matthews and his whole "There was an earthquake" spiel: The story of him and Jack's first encounter. lol - Tim Reynolds on the guitar = Unearthly sounds. Totally ridiculous. - Jack Johnson singing a song dedicated to his wife, if you know what I'm saying... (inside joke). - Jack Johnson dedicating a song to the people listening outside the concert. And telling people he jumped the fence once for another band's concert when he was younger, lol. - Jack Johnson singing Bubble toes and Better together. My favorite songs of his :)
Thanks for taking me here and being with me, random person wearing green shirt. :p |

Download this and other original video files with Multiply Premium. | | The show was awesome! They sound super duper mega GOOD, live. I had SUCH a great time. They are now officially the first band I've seen perform. :) Thanks Robby. For being the 69th caller. Haha. :P
PS: Would you look at Brandon Boyd shirtless? I wanted to do bad things to him. :( |
Went to the see The Lion King with Robby awhile ago, after work. The show was sold out for the last week and so they didn't have any rush tickets to offer. Instead, we paid 33 bucks for standing room tickets. The show was worth every dollar, and every minute standing up.
Rafiki was the heart and soul of the musical, with her voice filling up the concert hall effortlessly, and sending chills down my spine with every note sung. Mufasa's full voice will probably give me nightmares. Scar's a wuss who wants to be loved and adored, and Simba's an uncharismatic, pathetic, lion king. Haha. Oh well, Rafiki balances out all these. Oh, and the litlle Simbas. I loved it when Simba just freaking lets loose and does the caterpillar in the ground, along with several cartwheels and back flips.
Actually I loved most of it! The production was high quality. Costumes were exquisitely made, great set, and the music. Wow. The music was super! (With the exception of a couple of new songs that weren't originally in the movie. Those, I could have done without.) The actors' voices were just divine. Again, especially Rafiki's. Man, when that character comes to the stage, the hall buzzes with life.
All in all, it was a really good show tonight. I enjoyed it, even if I had to stand for about 5 hours total, waiting in line, and watching the actual show. :) She's got a whole lot of reasons She cant think of a single one That can justify leaving and he got none but he thinks he got so many problems Man he got, too much time to waste

I never realized just how much of a sick, twisted person Tina Arena (or whoever wrote the song "Burn") is for wanting someone to burn-- until I started reading The Burn Journals awhile ago. Fourteen year-old Brent Runyon empties a gasoline can on his bathrobe, gets into the shower, and lights a match, in his fourth attempt to kill himself.
I love the complete honesty, transparency, wit, and humor with which the author tells his story. What's even greater about it, is that he writes it as if he was again, the 14 year-old boy who tried to kill himself. It really puts you under his skin, so that you don't so much sympathize as actually pretty much re-experience it through his recollection. He writes about everything in as much detail as he can possibly remember, and I'm just absolutely fascinated. So fascinated that as I was cooking instant ramen awhile ago, I wanted to touch the blue flames of the stove, just to know how it feels. (Yes. I should not be given any ideas. It is very bad to give me any ideas. Very bad, indeed.)
The part that moved me most:
I keep thinking about it. I was in the bathroom and I had the gas can and the matches and I sat on the toilet. That's when I should've realized how stupid I was being. That's when I should've stopped it.
But I stood in the bathroom and put the bathrobe on, and it was wet and heavy, and I could have taken it off and gone back outside to play basketball with Craig and said, You won't believe what I almost did. And he would've known what to do. He would've gotten me help and made sure Mom and Dad weren't mad at me. I should've done that.
I could have just lit a little part of me on fire, like my arm or something just to see how much it hurt, and if it hurt too much, I could've stopped. And it definitely would have hurt, so I definitely would have stopped and then I could have still come in here and met all these people and then gone back to school in only like a week.
But I didn't stop. I lit the match and I put it against my wrist. And maybe if I'd just realized when the fire was going up my wrist to my arm but before it caught the whole bathrobe on fire, maybe then I could have turned on the shower and stopped the whole thing. I should have done that.
I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish, I wish. I wish I'd stopped. But I didn't. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Animation |
Movies like these should be made more often.
It started out interesting enough. Tragedy came in the form of a young girl getting a spell cast on her that made her into this 90-year old lady. There were just so many simple lines that my heart sounded off to. The movie was very simple. If you could call it that, given the very nature of the movie, which was uhm... quite set in a make-believe world where there are wizards and witches, and talking fire demons, and really hot raven guys.
But anyway. I was in tears, sobbing towards the end. I just couldn't control my grief for what I thought happened. Kind of like Click, but so much more touching.
This movie just really touched me. | Crash Into Me | | | | Dave Matthews Band | | | Bubbly | | | | Colbie Caillat | | | Like A Star | | Euro Xclusive 05-40 | | Corinne Bailey Rae | | | Tulak Ng Bibig | | Unknown Album (4/6/2006 7:26:0 | | Julianne | | | Sorry | | Mellow | | Maria Mena | | | If I Keep My Heart Out of Sight | | Nikki Gil | | Nikki Gil | | | Sophia | | Fires | | | |

Excuse me while I bitch about this movie.
Lame. Over dramatic. Fuggin' terrible dialogue. Proof? Last two lines before the screen blacked out:
Joaquin Phoenix: I love you very much. Mark Wahlberg: I love you too.
!?#$>^@#?@$?$?????? You do not END a movie like that!
And it's not just what was said, it's the way it was said. You guys... You're brothers. Not lovers. What the hell were Joaquin Phoenix and Mark Wahlberg doing, producing this? I mean, I know they know how to act, so what the hell happened? I just would like to know. I've never felt so cheated of my money. And to think they're the third top-rated movie in Fandango. I'm never consulting that site ever again.
Also, I believe this was the first time a major character in the movie died (was given a funeral and all), and I didn't even shed a tear. Believe me, I'm a person who cries at the movies even when the movie's a comedy. There's such a thing as trying too damn hard. Or maybe I'm turning cold. Haha, whichever. This movie still sucked, and I feel it's my moral responsibility to get the word out.
PS: Eva Mendez is gorgeous. Too bad she was in this movie. | Category: | Movies | | Genre: | Action & Adventure |
I thought it was the one with Queen Elizabeth and the Spanish Armada or something. But it turned out to be Jamie Foxx, Jennifer Garner, that guy from Arrested Development, and some old other guy who went into some place in the Middle East to track down the terrorists who blew up a softball park during a softball game in broad daylight, and then followed up with a bigger explosion when the first response team came.
Nobody from the Americans died. And the bad Arab guys do. Typical. Ironic how Arabs have such peaceful faces though. Seriously.
Okay, I pretty much spoiled it for you guys. But be thankful. You don't wanna watch this movie anyway. In fact, I'll tell you the ending. Both sides, Americans and Arabs-- take away with them the conviction that they shouldn't fear, cry, or worry cause they're gonna "kill em all", referring of course to the enemy.
Good thing I was watching it with someone who laughs at anything and everything. | | For the weekend, I flew to another island for the Phi Theta Kappa Pacific Regional Leadership Conference and Honors Institute. It was not only a lot of fun, but obviously, inspiring, enlightening, and re-energizing. I'm so glad to be able to have met all the wonderful people that I have. Everyone was just so friendly, intelligent, funny, and most importantly, respectful. |
